From: J. Bridges Date: 9/01/2007 6:48 PDT I made my observations in Filer, Idaho, just outside of Twin Falls, under poor viewing conditions (light pollution from the moon and the town, very high humidity, etc.). However, the three brightest meteors I saw were actually close to the moon. At 4:55, 4:59, and 5:46 a.m. local time (3:55, 3:59, and 4:46 a.m. PDT), I witnessed meteors of at least -2 magnitude (as they were much brighter than Sirius). The first was a white dot heading due west, just north of the moon. The second was distinctly blue. It started out going the same direction and in almost the same location as the first, but angled southwest in mid-flight. The third was green in color and in the same location as the first two. It left a greenish train behind it that lasted less than a second. Overall, I was witness to well over thirty meteors, ranging in color from white to blue to green to red, and in apparent magnitude from 3 to -2 (possibly even lower). The shower seemed to peak around 5:15, local time, as those few minutes were the only ones in which the meteors fell faster than I could write it all down. Signed, J. Bridges
